More about Nursing in Practice and NursingInPractice.com
Nursing in Practice is a monthly magazine produced by Campden Publishing. It is part of a family of products including events, exhibitions, workshops and of course this website, all aimed at nurses working in primary healthcare in the UK.
NursingInPractice.com is a free service designed to complement Nursing in Practice magazine. Visitors to the site can get daily news online or delivered direct to their inbox weekly by email. In addition to news there is a weekly quiz, a weekly blog, and many other online features, including "Video presentations" from our latest events.
At the heart of the site is the renowned content from the magazine. NursingInPractice.com provides access to the "latest issue" of the magazine and visitors can search the "archive" – going back to the very first issue in June 2001.
Editorial
Nursing in Practice has been editorially acclaimed, not only by the Royal College of Nursing, but also by the Royal College of General Practitioners, leading medical journals across the UK, and, most importantly, the majority of general practice nurses. The content of each issue aims to shape as well as reflect attitudes and approaches to practice in key areas of primary care nursing, such as tackling long-term conditions, achieving the maximum number of QOF points, clinical governance and nurse prescribing. Each issue contains:
Core clinical reviews – the bulk of each issue comprises a series of topical and accessible expert reviews summarising the latest thinking and developments in clinical practice in therapeutic areas related to primary care nursing. These articles reflect the rapidly expanding role of nurses and the importance of communication and cooperation among all members of the primary healthcare team.
Expert comment – political update and analysis from key individuals in healthcare, plus indepth interviews with the leaders and innovators in primary care nursing.
Further information – all clinical articles include details of a host of further information sources, such as useful contacts, related websites and links, relevant training courses, recommended literature and other resources.
Access
Nursing in Practice Magazine is available free to qualifying primary care nursing professionals. Register here for your copy. NursingInPractice.com is free but some content requires registration.
Events
In addition to the magazine and website Nursing in Practice delivers a series of Events. These are the largest series of free conferences and exhibitions dedicated to primary care nurses across the UK. These indepth educational conferences address all the current clinical and policy issues affecting the primary care community.
